Why list here as well as on Steam or itch.io
Store pages are where players buy; they are not where most players discover small games. Mutop100 is a ranking site for online games whose visitors browse lists, read short pitches and vote every day. Indie games sit in their own directory, sorted by player votes, so a game with an engaged community can outrank bigger names.
Your listing also works for you outside the site: the game page can rank in search for your game's name and your engine, the rank badge turns your website and devlogs into vote drivers, and every link leads players straight to your store pages.
What makes a listing work
- A one-line hook. "Co-op roguelite where your ship is the dungeon" beats "an exciting adventure". The short pitch is what players see in lists.
- A trailer of real gameplay. Show the core loop in the first five seconds.
- Five or more 16:9 screenshots. The first becomes your card image across the directory.
- An honest stage. Prototype, demo, playtest, Early Access or released: honesty builds trust and the right expectations.
- Your store links and Discord. Players who like the page need one click to wishlist, buy or join.
- Milestone updates. Update the listing for your demo, festival appearance, Early Access and 1.0 launch; each update is a reason to ask your community to vote again.
A launch-season playbook
| When | What to do on Mutop100 |
|---|---|
| Announcement | Publish your listing with the stage "In Development", your store page link and a release date or TBA. |
| Demo or playtest | Switch the stage to Demo Available or Playtest Open and share the page to recruit testers. |
| Festival week | During events such as Steam Next Fest, point your community at your vote link and the demo. |
| Launch | Set the release date and stage, update the trailer, and rally votes on launch week. |
| After launch | Keep the description current with updates and content drops so returning players see progress. |
For the complete marketing plan, from your first store page to launch week, read how to promote your indie game.
Optional boosts
The listing is free and stays free. If you want extra visibility for a launch, featured listings, sponsored positions and banner placements are available from your dashboard; they are always labelled as paid and never add votes. See the advertising options for listing owners.
Vragen die ontwikkelaars stellen
Is it really free to list my indie game?
Yes. The game page, directory placement, engine and platform pages, vote button, rank badge and dashboard are free. Paid boosts are optional.
Who can list a game?
The developer, or a publisher or marketer acting for them. Only list games you have the rights to promote; listings for games you do not represent, asset flips and spam are removed.
Can I list a game that is not out yet?
Yes. Prototypes, games in development, demos and playtests are welcome. Choose the honest stage and a planned release date or TBA.
Do I need my own website?
No. A Steam, itch.io, Google Play or App Store page works as the main link; you can add the other stores and a press kit as extra buttons.
How many games can I list?
Up to five active listings per account. Each game gets its own page and its own votes.
Do the links help my game's SEO?
Store and website links are marked nofollow, as is standard for user-submitted links. The value is the players who click them and a game page that can rank for your game's name and engine.
