Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A quick guide for new players and server owners: how to add a server, how votes work, when resets happen, how to get more views, and how to choose a good MU Online server.
How do I add my server and how does ranking work?
Create an account, open your Dashboard, and click Add Server. Your rank comes from the unique votes you get this month. More real votes = higher rank. Paid spots can help people see you, but they don’t change rank. See Top Servers.
How can I move up on MU Top 100?
Add the Voting Code to your site (get your code), share your server page, write a clear and honest description, keep images and videos fresh, and talk with your community. Paid visibility can bring more clicks, but it doesn’t change how ranks are calculated.
How often can players vote?
Players can vote once every 12 hours per IP/device/browser. Ask them to finish the CAPTCHA and come back after the cooldown to grow your monthly votes.
When do rankings reset?
The leaderboard resets on the 1st of every month. Votes don’t carry over. Your server page stays online unless you remove it.
Why didn’t a vote count?
Common reasons: the 12-hour timer isn’t over yet; VPN/Proxy or shared IP; ad/script blockers stopped the CAPTCHA; cookies or JavaScript are off; or the voter closed the page before finishing.
Where is my Voting Code widget?
In your Dashboard, open your server and click Voting Code to copy HTML/BBCode/direct link. Put it on your website, forums, and socials. Link straight to your server page for best results. Get code.
Why do some servers show a banner next to the title?
Some servers buy a banner spot for extra views. Use modern image formats to keep pages fast. Max upload is usually 10MB, but we suggest < 1MB for speed.
How do I create Ads or banner campaigns?
Go to your Dashboard and open Ads / Bidding (Create Ad). Upload your image, pick a spot, and pay. Your ad goes live after payment is confirmed.
How do I edit or extend my Ads?
Open My Ads to change images, pause or resume, or extend the campaign time.
What is the Grand Openings calendar?
It’s a calendar of upcoming MU Online servers. Players can find new launches, and owners can feature their opening date. See Grand Openings.
How do I choose a good MU Online server?
- Rates & Season: Pick EXP/drop rates and the Season you like.
- Population & Stability: Check recent votes and activity (site/Discord).
- Rules & Anti-cheat: Look for clear rules and active moderators.
- Location & Ping: Choose a region close to you for lower ping.
- Wipe policy: Know if/when resets happen.
Is playing on MU private servers legal?
We can’t give legal advice. It depends on your country and the server’s license. Follow local laws and respect the official publisher. Play responsibly.
What is MU Online?
MU Online is a classic fantasy MMORPG with fast, top-down combat and cool class progressions. Private servers are community-made and use custom rules, seasons, and rates.
How do I report fake votes or abuse?
Use the contact form and share proof (timestamps, screenshots, logs). We check unusual patterns and take action to keep things fair.
Where can I get help?
For listings, sponsorships, or press, use the contact page or email [email protected].
What's the difference between MU Online Seasons (S6, S12, S20+)?
Seasons are big game updates. S6 (Classic) feels old-school; S12–S15 add more classes and systems; S20+ has the newest fixes, events, and improvements. Pick the style you like and check each server’s Season in its header.
What do EXP rates like x10, x100 or x1000 mean?
They show how fast you level. x1–x20 = slow; x50–x200 = medium; x500+ = fast. New players often like medium rates (x50–x150). Veterans may choose low rates for challenge or high rates for quick fun.
Non-reset vs reset worlds — what should I pick?
Non-reset worlds keep your progress long-term. Reset worlds sometimes wipe or start a new season so everyone can race again. If you want a stable main and economy, choose non-reset. If you love fresh starts, choose reset.
How important is server region and ping?
Low ping makes combat feel better. Pick a region near you (or your guild). Most listings show region. Try the server at different times to check your ping.
How do I avoid unsafe client downloads?
Only download from the server’s official website or its listing links. Keep your antivirus on, check file hashes if given, and never run files sent by random DMs. Report anything suspicious on the contact page.
What is Castle Siege and how do I find active Siege servers?
Castle Siege is a big weekly guild vs guild battle. Look for servers that post Siege times, show active guilds, and share videos or summaries. Mid-rate and non-reset servers often have strong Siege scenes.
Which events keep a MU server active?
Popular events: Blood Castle, Devil Square, Chaos Castle, Golden Invasions, White Wizard, and Castle Siege. Pick servers with a clear event calendar that fits your time zone.
Do votes through VPNs or proxies count?
Usually not. We block or discount many VPN/proxy/datacenter votes to keep things fair. Ask players to vote from normal home or mobile networks.
How do I read server reviews without getting misled?
Focus on recent reviews with details: staff help, uptime, Siege size, and the game economy. Be careful with short copy-paste comments. Also check Discord and announcement history.
I'm new to MU — what kind of server should I start on?
Try a mid-rate S12–S20+ server with an active Discord, helpful guides, and fair rules. Look for recent updates, friendly moderation, and events for new characters.
