This is your quick cheat sheet for MU Online hotkeys (keyboard shortcuts) and the slash commands you will see on most servers. The keyboard shortcuts are built into the official game, so they work almost everywhere. The typed /commands are added by each server (the company or person running that copy of the game), so always check your server's own list before you count on them.
Base client vs server-custom: why it matters
MU Online's controls come in two kinds. Mixing them up is the number one reason a "command" suddenly stops working when you move to a new server.
- Keyboard hotkeys and chat prefixes live inside the official Webzen client (the actual game program everyone downloads). They act the same on almost every server, from the very old "classic 97d" version to the newest seasons. A season is just a big content update, like a chapter.
- Slash commands like
/reset,/pkclear,/addstrand/offstoreare written by the people who run each server, not by the official game. So the exact spelling, what you need to use them (a level, VIP, or some Zen, the in-game gold), and even whether they exist at all can change from server to server.

Core interface hotkeys (default client)
These keys open the game's windows and panels. They are part of the base game, so they work on nearly every modern MU server. A few windows only exist in later seasons (newer updates), and those are flagged below.

Older versions (Season 1 to 6) have fewer windows, so some keys simply do nothing. Newer keys like A (Master Skill Tree), K (Gremory Case), Y (Muun inventory), B (Gens) and N (party/guild matching) only show up on newer versions of the game. Check which season your server runs. Movement, combat & item keys
This group is all about how you move, attack and grab loot (the items monsters drop). Just like the interface hotkeys, these are built into the base game, so you can rely on them.

Your skill keys matter most while levelling (gaining levels) and farming (killing monsters over and over for items and Zen). Chat keys & channel prefixes
Chat has a few keys, plus some handy one-character prefixes. A prefix is just a symbol you type at the start of your message to send it to a certain chat channel (party, guild, and so on). These prefixes are part of the base game, not a server add-on, so they work on most versions.

The base game has no fixed letter for inviting someone to your party (your team). Instead, click on the player and send a party request from the right-click menu, or use the party/matching window (the N key on newer versions). Some launchers can also change what the F-keys do. Add-stat commands (common on private servers)
Now we move on to typed slash commands. Add-stat commands are super common because they let you dump thousands of stat points at once, instead of clicking the little plus button over and over. They are not in the official game, but most private servers (servers run by fans, not by Webzen) add them in.

On many classic versions of the game, pushing a single stat above 32,767 can turn the number red and act buggy. That is because of an old technical limit in how the game stores numbers. Reset, PK & broadcast commands
These get used a ton on reset-style servers, but every one of them is set up by the server. The admin (the person in charge) decides what each command does, what it costs, and its cooldown (the wait before you can use it again). So read the notes below as the usual pattern, not a promise.
/resetresets your character. A reset sends you back to level 1 in exchange for some reward the server offers, like extra stat points (see the server's reset table, explained in the EXP, drop and reset guide). EXP is short for experience, the points you earn to level up./pkclearclears your PK status. PK ("player killer") is the outlaw mark you get for killing other players, and clearing it often costs some Zen (in-game gold)./post <message>sends a message to the whole server (a broadcast), usually for a fee or with a cooldown.- Other versions include
/tpost(a trade message),/gpost(a message across servers) and/online(shows how many players are online).
Whether /reset keeps your stats, what it costs, and how many extra points it gives can totally change how balanced a server feels. Offline store & offline farming commands
Offline commands let your character keep working even after you log off, which is why they are so popular on busy servers. The catch: they do not all use the same name, so the exact spelling depends on the server.

Since the spelling changes from server to server, do not assume one version works everywhere. Also expect some kind of limit, like a minimum level, a VIP rank, or a time cap on how long it runs. MU Helper is the game's auto-hunt system (it plays for you), and the MU Helper guide covers it in full.
Offline store and offline-attack are the two commands people mix up the most in MU. Before you log off thinking your shop will keep selling, double-check the exact command and its cost on the server's website or Discord. Inventory & vault utility commands
This last group is all about convenience. These typed commands save you trips to NPCs (the computer-controlled shop characters) and help clear clutter. They depend on the server, though, and plenty of servers do not have them at all.
/openvaultopens your vault (your warehouse, the extra storage box) without walking to an NPC./clearinv,/cleareventinvand/clearvaultquickly clear out a bunch of inventory and event items at once./store coin,/store gpand/store ruudlet you pick which currency you sell for on some Season 16+ servers. The D key opens the in-game list of character commands, and many servers add their own custom ones to it. It is the quickest way to see what a server supports without ever leaving the game.

What is the keyboard shortcut for inventory and character stats in MU Online?
Press V or I to open your inventory, and C to open the character stats window. On newer seasons (newer updates), Shift+C opens an extra stats page. All of these are built into the official game, so they work on nearly every server.
